Linda Sue Park

Linda Sue Park (b. March 1960) - author of numerous popular teen fiction books, she was awarded the prestigious Newbery Medal in 2002 for ​A Single Shard​, which was set in 12th Century Korea. Among her other famous and widely-read books are ​A Long Walk to Water​ (about the various struggles of youth in Sudan, including  the lack of clean water) and ​When My Name was Keoko ​(set during the Japanese colonization of Korea (1910-1945), detailing the Koreans' struggle to maintain their identity). ​
