Linda Sue Park
Linda Sue Park (b. March 1960) - author of numerous popular teen fiction books, she was awarded the prestigious Newbery Medal in 2002 for A Single Shard, which was set in 12th Century Korea. Among her other famous and widely-read books are A Long Walk to Water (about the various struggles of youth in Sudan, including the lack of clean water) and When My Name was Keoko (set during the Japanese colonization of Korea (1910-1945), detailing the Koreans' struggle to maintain their identity).
