Hei-Kyung Hong (홍혜경; b. July 1959) - an operatic soprano, she has performed in numerous operas in many of the world's greatest stages, including the world-renowned Metropolitan Opera House at New York's Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts. She was the first Korean to win the Metropolitan Opera Competition in 1982, after which she made her debut with the Metropolitan Opera in 1984. Since this debut, she has become a fixture at The Met, where she still performs, including playing the role of Mimì in La Bohème during The Met’s current 2016-2017 season.
She is also the 2014 HO-AM Prize winner in The Arts.
